It’s been a couple of months since the release of my last mini food tutorial, How to Sculpt Miniature Summer Foods, so it’s time for another book! The topic? Dollhouse bakery treats.

I’ll be revamping content from my first two books (the cake and cupcake tutorials), since it’s been a couple of years since their release–kind of hard to believe it’s been that long!–and I’ll be adding a lot of new content to cover desserts that many of you have been requesting tutorials for, such as poundcake, tarts, fruit pies and cobblers, and more sweet treats.

So far, I’ve been sculpting and photographing the cake section, which has been expanded to include brand new techniques for even more realistic results, as well as specific recipes for new favorites, like rainbow cake, Funfetti cake, and cake pops. Once this section is done, I’ll redo the cupcakes portion, with new instructions on different methods for making cupcake liners and various toppings, and then I’ll tackle all of the “miscellaneous” desserts that haven’t been covered in any of my books.

And, of course, I’ll be stocking my shop with loads of new bakery-themed miniatures to help you round out your dollhouse food scenes, like pastry cases, baking supplies, dessert display stands, and more. Β Stay tuned for more work-in-progress pics on the blog, and make sure you’re on the mailing list so you’ll be the first to know once the book is available.
