Our apartment is now completely overrun by Christmas decorations, thanks to my latest tutorial book, 12 Days of Christmas Decorations. I’m having so much fun, though, that I can’t seem to stop crafting…
This book is a little different than my previous tutorials, because I wanted to incorporate miniatures into larger holiday decorations that you can hang on the tree, stick on the fridge, and decorate the dinner table with. So you’ll find projects for a snowman cake tree ornament, a tabletop gingerbread house that never goes stale, festive napkin rings decorated with tiny cookies, and more.
Perhaps my favorite project, however, is the Christmas room box. *happy sigh* With the exception of a few pieces of dollhouse furniture, this box was made entirely from craft store supplies. You’ll be surprised how simple it is! And the best part? The box glows with a cheery light, thanks to the handmade Christmas tree and a flickering “fire” in the corner. I can’t wait to turn the box on every night, and I’m still not tired of peering in through the little window and marveling at the tiny scene. I know you’re going to have a lot of fun with this one!

I love the little art class ornament and advent calendar! I do an advent calendar every year, and it’s still one of my favorite parts of the holiday; the little mitten ornament reminds me of a shrinky dink tree we once had 🙂
I will have to be careful with breakable ornaments this year though, my cats knocked something over into the tree, which then fell done and broke some things 😛 But I will have fun crafting gifts for family this year! 🙂

How fun! And OMG, I’d totally forgotten about Shrinky Dinks, but I used to love those as a kid. 🙂 It’s probably good that we don’t have cats, because between all of the holiday decorations and my multiple dollhouses, they would have a field day. :p Have a wonderful holiday, Rebecca! 😀
