Work on the new miniature breakfast foods tutorial continues, and I had a tiny triumph yesterday while making miniature oatmeal. I’ve never been satisfied with my previous attempts; the texture just wasn’t quite right. But I’ve finally unlocked the secrets of tiny oatmeal (buahahah–take that, oatmeal!), and I’ve outlined the entire process in the new tutorial.
Along with the infamous oatmeal, I sculpted a few breakfast plates with sunnyside-up eggs, hash browns, roasted potatoes, and sausage patties (I have a new method for those, too, which will be in the book), and I made a few bagels as well.
Needless to say, I have had some major breakfast-food cravings this week! Here’s a little photo tour to kick off some cravings of your own.
I haven’t taken any individual photos of the bagels yet, but you can see them in the center of this group shot.
If you missed yesterday’s post, it has more breakfast food pics, and you can check it out here. Don’t forget, if you’re not on my mailing list you can sign up now to receive an update and a discount when the new tutorial book is released in March (you’ll also get Β a free bonus tutorial when you sign up).

[…] In the meantime, I want to give you another sneak peek at some of the foods you’ll learn how to make with the new tutorial. If you missed earlier blog posts in this thread, you can see more examples of the included breakfast foods here and here. […]

Ooh, that oatmeal looks really good! And I love the photo of the breakfast plate balanced on your fingertips — I almost can’t believe it’s so small. π The sausage texture makes me think of those apple fritter donuts. I wonder if those would miniaturize well? π

Ooooh, I might just have to try making one of those apple fritter donuts. *sigh* Wouldn’t mind trying a real one right about now, too. π
