My miniatures shipment just arrived, and I’ve been arranging some of the new pieces to see how they fit into the room layout. The biggest addition is the pair of bay windows that I’ll be adding to the (as yet unbuilt) front wall.
I’ll probably wait to paint them until I get my urban diorama book, just to make sure that whatever finish I choose for the outside of the bakery matches with the window paint. I’m excited, though, by how much display space these windows add. Can’t you just picture cute cakes and pretty gift boxes inside?
I also ordered a little bike, inspired by the following photo from my Pinterest board for the bakery. I likely won’t leave it red, painting it a brighter color instead, and I want to make items to fit inside the little basket.
I was thrilled to see the tiny napkin holder I ordered was in stock. I don’t know why, but this little piece makes me happy. 🙂
One of the doors I ordered didn’t come in, but the front door did. Unfortunately, it’s not sized to fit my door, which is odd, because it’s the same company and was indicated as being the correct size, but oh well. I’ll likely attach it to the outside of the building and use fake stones or some other finishing to cover up the gap created by the size mismatch.
