My mom found an old book inΒ a second-hand shop, and she knew immediately that it was right up my alley. I’m sure you can see why. π
The book contains a few little stories, and the first is about Mouse hunting for a new house, which reminded me a lot of the Nutmegs’ adventure.
Well, Mouse searches high and low, but everything he finds is too wet (a watering can), too dirty (a dust pan), or too dangerous (a nook with a cat lurking nearby).
But then, Mouse stumbles upon the perfect house.
And just when I thought things couldn’t get any cuter, Mouse decides that he’s lonely and needs a friend, so he embarks on another search, meeting a turtle (too slow), a frog (too jumpy), a fish (too wet), and so on–none of whom make the cut.
Of course, he eventually meets another cute little mouse, and they live in the house together. Look at their adorable little mouse butts!

OHMYGOD, Mo! You have just taken me waaay back to my youth. That was one of the first Scholastic books that I ever bought from the little fliers that came around every 2 weeks or so at school. I loved this book because I was a rodent freak way back when. My friends and I had around 95 mice at one time. π
Thank you for this neat little blast from the past, AND the adorable, poofy little mouse bootys. π
