The past couple of months have been a whirlwind of miniatures and massage therapy school, the latter of which I’ll be finishing up at the end of August–hurrah! I have loads of things to catch you up on, including an in-person class I’ll be teaching this fall, so read on…
First off, my husband and I were in Kansas City for our anniversary last month, and I spotted miniatures at IKEA. Of course, I had to take some pics to share.
We also stopped in Overland Park to see the Firefly Forest, an art installation of tiny houses nestled along a wooded public trail, which, sadly, had seen better days, but you can check out the Forest’s Flickr stream to see what it looked like in its heyday.
The next bit of exciting news is that I’ll be teaching an in-person workshop this fall at the Columbia Area Career Center on October 26 from 6:00 to 9:00 pm.
The three-hour class will cover how to make a moist yellow cake with pink frosting and rainbow sprinkles and a pair of gooey grilled cheese earrings. While we’re working on those fun projects, I’ll also be available to answer any questions you have about tiny food in general, so it’s sure to be a fun night! Be sure to sign up for my mailing list to get updates as the class approaches.
For massage school, I went to a local farm on an aromatherapy field trip, and I met two of the best. donkeys. ever. Even their names are adorable: June and Tuesday. They totally need their own series of children’s books.
OMG, their sweet, little faces! *swoon*
And last but not least, here’s a peek at a recent custom order for a platter of Christmas cookies made into a brooch. In spite of the 100-degree weather, it’s totally put me in the mood for Christmas miniatures.
Don’t forget to sign up for my mailing list to receive updates about the October workshop! You’ll also get a ton of free tutorials when you sign up. π

OMG! What scale is that dollhouse?! PLEASE tell me you snagged it at that amazing price WAAH!! :O It’s such nice wood, and oh my goodness, the things I could do with that house! In addition to getting a divorce hahaha.
Woot!!!! A miniatures class, DOOD! I am SO there.
Even though I adore all things Equine (ever since I was old enough to talk about wanting a horse haha), I have a serious ‘thing’ for Donkeys and Mules. Those little gals are major kryptonite to this horse lover. <3
This has been the best post ever, my friend. Thank you for making my day!

I hope the class goes so well that you do more so that I can come! So sad that I’ll be on the west coast. π

And believe it or not, I managed to tear myself away from the IKEA dollhouse. I have a new mini plan a’ brewin’ and I need all the space in my studio I can get. π
