I have very exciting news for all of my lovely tutorial readers: This year, I will releasing a new kind of tutorial, so read on for more details!
This year’s tutorials are part of my new Cooking School Series. Unlike my previous books (the Dollhouse Chef Series), these tutorials will be shorter–roughly 5 to 6 projects per book–and offered at a lower price. Make sure you’re on my mailing list if you want to get an email as new titles become available.
This shorter book length will allow me to cover so many more topics, from wedding foods and Japanese dishes, to fairy tale desserts and non-food items, like pretty stationery and craft supplies.
To allow me to devote most of my time to tutorial writing, I am now offering most of my food jewelry and miniature food pieces on a made-to-order basis, with a typical turnaround time of 4-5 days. So for those of you who enjoy buying the finished products, those will still be available, don’t worry, and I am still more than happy to work on custom orders as well. 🙂
Within the next two weeks, I’ll be releasing the first Cooking School book, which will show you how to sculpt an assortment of delightful afternoon tea party snacks, like finger sandwiches, cardamom-orange tea cake, and pretty pastel petit fours.
Here’s a sneak peek at the upcoming book:
I will also be placing an order for tea sets on Monday, January 12, by request only, so please take a peek at the photos below, and email me if you would like to pre-order one of these items. All quantities listed are subject to change.

Mo,
I recently downloaded your new book -Tea Party Foods and can’t wait to get started! However I have one question. In several of the projects you refer “white liquid clay”. Is this something you mix up or can it be ordered? I have translucent liquid clay, is this the same thing? Appreciate your help.-Deanne

Hi, Deanne–great question! White liquid clay is something you buy. It’s very similar to the translucent liquid clay, but it’s opaque white. There are a number of brands; the one I use most often is Kato Liquid PolyClay. (You can also find it at big box craft stores in many areas.) Have fun sculpting!

Thanks, Susan! It was really fun doing something other than food for a change. 😉
