My studio is still an explosion of Easter colors this week, and I’ve just finished a duo of American Girl cakes, complete with cute bunnies, ducks, and lots of pastels.
At the request of reader Janice M., I’m also working on a short tutorial book detailing how to make American Girl cakes, and I’ve finished half of it so far. In a week, once I begin work on another cake custom order, I’ll be able to photograph and finish the rest. The tutorial will detail how to make both multiple tiered cakes and cakes with slices removed.
If you want to receive an email once the tutorial is available, be sure to sign up for my mailing list. You’ll also get a bunch of free tutorials when you sign up, including one for an American Girl gingerbread house, complete with printable templates.
Here are images of the Easter egg prep for the second cake I made.
And here’s the final cake.
And speaking of Easter, if you missed last week’s Easter post, be sure to check out my new tutorial, Decorated Easter Cookies, which will show you how to make lots of colorful holiday sweets in 1/12 scale using my new miniature food molds.
