I had to take a short break from the Italian book today to work on some custom orders, and I wanted to show you a few pics.
For one order I created a slice of rainbow cake (you can get the ring version here), along with an assortment of empty boxes to be used for the customer’s mini food projects. Two of the boxes have an inner portion that slides out, and three of them have little windows that I covered with cut out pieces from a sheet protector.
I also made a batch of custom macarons in assorted colors.
I’ll be back to work on the upcoming Italian foods book tomorrow, so stay tuned for my next batch of pics! 🙂

Ouf!! Having to place things with tweezers always drives me crazy. Then again, I’ve been doing super-detailed paintings of people’s kitchens, so it’s just a different flavor of insanity. ;b

Selfishly, can I say that I’m always excited when you’re painting anything food/kitchen related? I’m still daydreaming about you coming out with a book of your artwork and writing, preferably with a heavy emphasis on food. 😉

YESSSS! OMG, I immediately thought of you when I saw that book, and I allowed myself a momentary daydream that Jake and I will move out to the west coast one day, and you can I can work on our own (mini, perhaps?) cookbook illustrated with your art. *happy sigh*
