Tax Time

Country Bread Making Board

The last of my necessary tax forms arrived in the mail this morning, and in a spurt of unprecedented financial enthusiasm, I completed my taxes–woo hoo! I’m even getting a rather nice return back this year, which has motivated me to start paying estimated quarterly taxes in 2010, since this will be the first time I’ll be working solely through my home-based business (graphic design, copywriting, and, of course, the minis), and it would probably be best to pay in smaller chunks instead of being hit with a scary amount all at once when the next tax season rolls around. No thanks.

Country Bread Making Board

In less boring news, I finished a Country Bread Making Board, complete with warm yeast dough rising in a stoneware bowl and two finished loaves, fresh from the oven. I was craving homemade bread after making this piece, so I decided to whip up a batch of whole wheat strawberry bagels. If you’re into baking and you haven’t yet given bagels a try, I urge you to do so. They’re so much fun, and nothing beats eating a piping hot bagel straight from the oven with a little melted butter and honey–yum!

Gotta do our taxes too — Erik does ours, but he’s set a deadline for me to hand over my records to him (tomorrow, eep)!

Didn’t know you did copywriting too. I’ll have to ask you more about that sometime — I’d like to know more good writing-based ways to bring in some income, in case our savings run out. :)

I might not be much help in the copywriting department, because I work for a set number of clients that I’ve had for ages, and I’m not actively looking for any more, so I’m pretty out of the loop these days with where to find writing work. I can definitely ask my aunt, though, if that’s something you’re interested in, because she does a lot of writing work.

Good luck with taxes : /
